As of February 2022 the law on Smoke alarms is changing in Scotland.
All Scottish homes will need to have ceiling mounted interlinked alarms, this means that if one alarm goes off they all go off & no matter where you are in your home you will always hear an alarm if they were to go off.
The minimum requirement is 1 smoke alarm in the living room, or the room you use most, 1 smoke alarm in every hallway & landing and 1 heat alarm in the kitchen.
In addition to this, if you have any carbon-fuelled appliances such as a boiler, fire or hobs then a carbon monoxide alarm should be placed in that room, however this does not need to be interlinked.
Wireless interlinked smoke & heat alarms are quick, easy & mess free to install.
No unnecessary damage to walls or ceilings, no lifting of carpet or floor boards and no unsightly trunking.
